Understand printings and grouped variants
Why four copies of one card can show as a single tile, and how to get at the individual versions.
One tile can stand for several cards
Cards owned in more than one version are grouped into a single tile, so a collection with four printings of the same card doesn't read as four unrelated things. A group can mix different printings, finishes and conditions of the same card.
The tile shows totals across every variant in the group, and availability and loan counts are summed across the whole group. Tap it to view, edit or compare each variant on its own.
What makes two copies different variants
- Printing The specific set and collector number the card came from.
- Finish Standard, foil or etched.
Worth keeping accurate, since you can filter by finish when building a deck.
- Condition Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played or Damaged.
This is what separates a tournament-playable copy from trade stock.
- Language Non-English copies carry a badge on the collection tile.
Quantity is per exact printing and finish, not per card. Two foils and one non-foil of the same printing are two rows, not three.
